Tom Jankovich passed away October 2, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 29, 1950, to Clara Rose Jankovich (Kosinski) and Emil Milton Jankovich. He is preceded in death by his parents and Godchild James Robert “Jimmy.” He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Jo (Schampers) Jankovich; sister Shari Miller (Wayne); children Betsy Berndsen and Alex Jankovich; grandchildren Julius Berndsen and Lucas Berndsen; and many friends, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Tom had a love of learning. He was an avid reader. He loved hunting, trap shooting, golfing, playing tennis, bike riding, and woodworking. Tom shared his love of woodworking by making gifts for family and friends-everything from cabinetry, spice racks, and cribbage boards. Tom loved growing and canning vegetables, cooking, and making meals in his pressure canner. There wasn’t anything Tom couldn’t fix. He was a jack of all trades.

Tom was a 1969 graduate of Marquette University High School in Milwaukee. He attended UW-Stevens Point and UW-Madison before earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Cum Laude) at UW-Milwaukee. Tom had a distinguished 30-year career proudly serving our Country’s Veterans at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee. Tom retired from nursing at the VA in 2008.

Tom spent his retirement years doing what he loved most-spending time with his family. There was nothing more rewarding to Tom than being a husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.
