Carbon Neutral Cremations

Environmental Impact of Cremation

With each cremation performed, carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases enter the atmosphere. Though perhaps not as environmentally harmful in the long term as a traditional burial, every cremation leaves a considerable impact on the environment. We have taken recent steps to offset the carbon footprint of our onsite cremations.

Our Clean Water Initiative

Here at Informed Choice, we’re always looking for better ways to do things. In honor of Milwaukee’s internationally recognized expertise and leadership in fresh water research and technology, we have pledged to support the Kenya Clean Water Project and the Ethiopia Clean Water Project to help provide clean water to people living in those countries. Through donations made to these clean water initiatives, we are working to offset the carbon footprint of cremations performed in 2020, 2021, and beyond.

Getting in Touch

Carbon offset projects allow organizations across the world to actively work to reduce the harmful effects of carbon emissions on the Earth. We are proud to be doing our part to help create a better world for future generations. If you’d like to learn more about cremation and our partnership to provide clean water for people throughout Kenya and Ethiopia, email us at: funeralplanner@informedchoice.org.

Along with our clean water initiatives, we support green burial initiatives. These are both important steps in our firm’s journey toward sustainability.
