Marlene M Pfeiffer (nee Wepfer), 86, of Jackson, entered peace on Friday, September 11, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Marlene was born on May 2, 1934, the daughter of the late Arthur and Aileen (nee Todd) Wepfer. Marlene lost her mother when she was 17 and, for a number of years, faced the world with only her sister, Patsy Koren. This formed an incredibly strong bond that lasted up to Marlene’s death. They adored each other. Marlene married Terry Pfeiffer and was the mother of four beautiful daughters: Debra (Del) Molkentin, Carrie (Demo) Staver, Susie (Todd) Klumb, and Nancy (Steve) Sargis. The family has wonderful memories of their time living on a farm in Brookfield where Marlene and Terry provided so many opportunities for the girls to ride horses, swim in the family pool, sled down toboggan runs, build their gymnastic skills, and party at the annual corn roast. She was very proud of her grandchildren Melissa (Ryan) Mayer, Arianna (Sean) Naughtin, Steven (Shally) Voit, Jenna (Ryan) Olson, De’leen Molkentin (fiancé Jeff Dick), Rachel Klumb (fiancé Peter Heinen), Adam Sargis and Mark Sargis. She loved her great-grandchildren Mackenzie Staver, Gavin Mayer, Nolan Naughtin, Elijah Molkentin, Myles Olson, and the soon to be born Micah Voit. She spent her life taking care of others, including her nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. Marlene’s love for children was evident in the many years she worked as a teacher’s aide at Children’s Community Center in Menomonee Falls where she formed many enduring friendships.
Marlene enjoyed getting together with her friends for happy occasions. In place of a funeral, she threw an 80th birthday party and invited her friends and family for food, drinks, and live music. She loved to show off her sense of style and was a frequent shopper at Z Gallerie. Her home at Jackson Crossings quickly became the showplace for prospective residents to tour. We expect that Marlene is telling God to update Heaven with the latest decorating tips she saw on HGTV – and would not take no for an answer!
Marlene was a fighter, having stared down a heart attack, lung cancer, colon cancer, and brain cancer. She never asked “why me”, rather choosing to live her life on her terms. Her family often noted that Marlene had nine lives and she lived each of them fully. She left this world with only two regrets: not being able to hold her unborn great-grandson Micah and not being able to be a flower girl at her granddaughter Rachel’s wedding next year. We have no doubt that she would have been a highlight of the wedding with the flourish that she would have brought to her role.
The family would like to thank all of those at Jackson Crossings who supported her in her last days, especially Becky, Brea, Barbara, and Holly.
A private family service will be held at a future date.
