John Marsden Schwenk, 82, of Milwaukee, died on April 19, 2020, in Milwaukee. He was born in Harlem, New York to Marsden and Catherine (Devins), the younger brother to Eileen. He completed high school where he excelled in reading and English classes, then served in the Air Force for four years before beginning a 38-year career at Citibank/Diner’s Club. John was married to his sweetheart, May Arlene, for 41 years before her passing in 2004 and is survived by his three children: Andrew (Katie) of Conover, WI, Matthew (Catherine) of Belvidere, IL, and June (Herman) of Milwaukee, WI, along with 10 grandchildren. Our memories of him are too many to list, but include his dedicated care of our mother over the course of her lengthy illness, his consistent desire to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and his financial blessings with others, a great sense of humor, and love for his family. He will be remembered for his generous nature, love of trivia and classic movies, and faith in Jesus Christ. John was truly one of a kind. He died peacefully, met with the embrace of his Creator.
