Janet Marie Meng

(nee Cross) Found her comfort and peace on Sunday, August 9, 2020, at the age of 78, at home where she wanted to be.  Janet was the beloved wife, soul mate, and best friend of John (Jack) Meng for over 35 years.  Loving mother of Dave (Patti) Erdman, Jeff (Jen) Erdman, and Janine (Micheal) Sparr.  Loving step-mother to Jaye (Jennifer) Meng and Kelli (Doug) Baltz.  Treasured grandchildren, Alex, Kim (Kevin), Codie, Caitlen, Nicolas, Taylor, Eja, Lance (Kristee), and Johnathan.  Also blessed with great-grandchildren, Aubree, Lydia, Jovie, and her most recent great-granddaughter Lilly.  She is also survived by her sister Carolei Iske,  special niece Caryne (Dave).  Her Sister-in-law, Doris Current. Further loved by many nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, John & Elaine Cross and brother-in-law John Iske.

Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee on Friday, August 14, 2020. Gathering 5:00 PM – 6:15 PM, with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM.

Even though Janet was born in Chicago, IL, Wisconsin melted her heart.  She enjoyed fishing, camping, drawing, and painting.  Because of her love for drawing and painting, Janet attended MSOE and became an engineer.  She retired from Super Steel Products after being an engineer for 20 years.  It was during that time that she met Jack. 

Anyone that knew Janet will always remember that she had a sense of fashion, her hair and make-up were meticulous, her jewelry was her pride and joy.  Janet’s inner beauty was even greater than the beauty we all saw on the outside.
