Helmut W. Hensler, a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on March 15th, 2024, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was born on August 19th, 1956, in Wiesbaden, Germany to his parents Walter Josef Koob and Ilse (Gierl) Hensler.

At the age of 17, Helmut volunteered for service in the US Marines and served during the Vietnam War. After he returned from service, he got his associate degree in Occupation Therapy from Madison Area Technical College. On September 16, 2006, he married Jane Marie Lorge.

Helmut’s life was one filled with love and devotion to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and humor that will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His passing has left an irreplaceable hole in the hearts of those who loved him.

Helmut had some serious health problems the last few years but survived them (up till now anyway) with the help of his devoted wife, Jane, and his granddaughter Autumn.

Helmut is survived by his wife Jane, sister Gaby Boch, sister Cindy Hensler, a brother Jason Hensler; his children Stephanie (Wael) Schweitzer, Stacy Schweitzer, and Nicholas Schweitzer.

Helmut is further survived by his granddaughters Autumn, Ariana, Aurora, Alyssa, and Asiyah, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Walter, his mother Isle, a baby brother Leslie, his maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as several aunts and uncles.

A special thanks to his granddaughter Autumn for always being there and helping grandpa through the toughest times and continuing to support grandma afterwards.

Following his wishes, there will not be a service, but friends and well-wishers are encouraged to write a farewell note on a can of Leinenkugel’s and drink it in his honor.

Unlike previous times, this is not a ploy to avoid creditors or unwanted family visits. We assure you that he is gone. He will be greatly missed.
