Berneice A. Page was born September 14, 1937, in Brownsville, TN to Lillie E. Owens and Zee Gause. She received her formal education in Brownsville, TN, and then later moved to Milwaukee, WI in June 1954. On November 13, 1954, Berneice was united in marriage to Napoleon Page in Waukegan, IL. and within that union, they raised two daughters: Sonya and Phyleta Page.
Berneice was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1964 where she served Jehovah passionately for almost 56 years, doing so as a full-time Pioneer for six years. Later, Berneice graduated with a degree in Nursing from MATC (Milwaukee Area Technical College) where she worked for Belair Healthcare as a private homecare Registered Nurse. Berneice was truly a fashionista. She also enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling, and fishing.
Berneice passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020, at the age of 82. She lived a full life of love and joy. She was a loving wife, mom, sister, grandmother, and aunt. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Berneice was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon Page, her mother, Lillie E. Matthews, father Zee Gause, and brother James L. Matthews. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Sonya R. Horton (Christopher Horton) Milwaukee, WI; Phyleta L. Page- Knighton (Russell Knighton) Atlanta, GA; sisters Hattie L. Polk Milwaukee, WI; Waddell Ezzard (Eugene Ezzard) Lithonia, GA; Virginia Gause, Mattie Jackson, Gerdie Williams, Gladys Hills, Brenda Taylor-Anderson all of Omaha, NE; Mary Louis Foster Gadsden, AL; brothers Larnell Matthews and Leon Douglas both of Milwaukee, WI; Norvell Gause and John Howard Gause both of Union City, TN; 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of family and friends.
