Benjamin Bramwell Roberts passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, surrounded by loved ones at his home, after living with brain cancer for more than six years. He was 31 years old.

Ben was born in Racine on May 23, 1985, to Lee Bramwell Roberts and Paul William Roberts. While growing up in Racine, he demonstrated great passion and skill for both art and computer technology.  He graduated from Walden III High School in 2003 and during that time worked for several summers with the city’s Main Gallery youth arts program. Ben also spent many hours teaching himself how to write computer code, and later pursued his passions for art and technology by earning a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design from the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2007. After graduation, Ben worked as a graphic and web designer for several advertising firms in the Milwaukee area, including Michaletz Zwief, Layer One Media and Naveo Marketing.

Ben met the love of his life, Nicole Elizabeth Langowski, while in college and they were married in August, 2009, at a beautiful, beachside ceremony in Cape May, N.J. They lived in Downtown Milwaukee, where they enjoyed life to its fullest every day.

Ben will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, which he managed to maintain while facing a devastating illness, as well as his compassion for others and his sly sense of humor. From the time he was small, Ben saw the world through an artist’s eyes. He had a keen sense of curiosity that led him to explore many interests throughout his life, including the games of chess and Magic the Gathering. Ben also loved to cook and mix craft cocktails and enjoyed sharing his latest creations with friends and family. And each summer, he couldn’t wait to spend time on the beach and boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey.

Ben is survived by his wife, Nicole, sister Hannah (Catherine) Roberts Villnave, and parents Paul (Jenny) Roberts and Lee (Tom Christensen) Bramwell Roberts. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and dear friends. Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia and Randolph C. Bramwell, and Ruth and James Roberts.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, www.abta.org8550 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Suite 550, Chicago, IL 60631.

The family wishes to thank doctors Jennifer Connelly, Mark Malkin and Kenneth Reichert, along with other staff at Froedtert and Community Memorial Hospitals for their care and compassion.
