Condolences for Gabrielle Consetta Szpak
A poem Gabrielle wrote for her Aunt Evy when she was hiking the Appalachian Trail. To my aunt who climbs uphill with such skill I stay behind and take a pill Meet in the middle Yes we will
In peace and light
Although we lost contact as teens, what I remember most was her laugh and her smile. I was unaware of her illness until later in our lives and didn’t know the extent of it until recent years. It is unfortunate that she is no longer here, but I’m so glad she no longer has to fight the internal demons, no longer has to hear the voices, no longer has to feel like there’s no escape. Gabby, I have fond childhood memories - RIP!
