While it has been two years, it feels like forever since I last talked to you. The void in my life that you left has still not been filled. I miss you to infinity! This was posted on Acorn Esports Facebook page. Shelly did a fantastic job with it. In Loving Memory It is with deep sadness & regret that we announce the passing of our owner/creator & best friend, Barry Blair. Also known in the gaming world as XGN Trimmer & Mr Trimmer on Xbox. Barry passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, in Glendale, WI age 62. Barry was born in Fort Worth, TX then moved to Irving, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his two best friends Ruth and Brian Swanson whom he considered family, along with many other family members. Barry served in the US Navy from 1977-1982, serving on the USS Truxton from 1978-1982 as a Gunners Mate. Barry worked in various retail positions such as sales, customer service, security, as well as a manager. He was able to become a Master Gardener over the years and really enjoyed working with plants and flowers so much so that he became a landscaper. When he wasn't gardening, Barry's second greatest joy was to go fishing for freshwater game fish including Salmon and Trout. Particularly in Lake Michigan with his favorite fishing buddys, Ruth & Brian. Barry was a very nomadic person traveling around the country during his adult years visiting many national parks and states. He lived in the following states of Texas, California, Washington, Colorado, and finally settled in Wisconsin to be near his closest & dearest friends. He attended Brookhaven College & studied Photojournalism. He also attended Mountain View College & studied Communications. His greatest personal achievement was creating an E-commerce store, Acorn International LLC., with his best friend Ruth Swanson & Rachelle Coleman. Barry himself was an avid gamer & part owner/former community member of XGN. When he wasn't fishing or gardening he had a controller in his hand. Whether it was battling other players in World of Tanks or creating spectacular worlds with Ruth in Minecraft, Barry loved to game & loved the communities gaming has created for players. Acorn esports was made for gamers, gaming communities and small clubs to personalize clothing & other products to support themselves and grow. Acorn esports, as it was known in the gaming world, gave gamers & hobbyists of all backgrounds a way to promote and support their communities. Not only by giving them a platform free of cost, but by supporting amateur teams at competitions & conventions as well as sponsoring numerous tournaments. Sending teams to both Gears of War & Call of Duty events, Acorn has always been dedicated to helping others grow like the mighty oak. Barry was laid to rest near an impressive Oak tree at Highland Memorial Park in New Berlin, WI. A private memorial was held graveside.
