Sherrill Mae Torgerson was born on April 14, 1943 and found her eternal resting place on December 26, 2020. She is preceded in death by her loving parents Avyes Elaine Fretty and Frank Alexander Grzesk. Sherrill married her surviving husband Eugene Morris Torgerson nearly 45 years ago and shortly thereafter gave birth to her son, Jesse Alexander Torgerson. Eugene and Jesse were the lights of her life and her purpose throughout her journey. Sherrill is further survived by her daughter-in-law Erin Torgerson, brother Gerald (Joan) Grzesk, Eugene’s daughter Penny (Jamie) Reifschneider, her granddaughter Brittney Katauskas (David), her grandson Ross Reifschneider, and her great-granddaughters Mila and Ruby. She was also loved by countless in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. A special thank you goes out to the staff at Aurora West Allis Medical Center, Linden Grove New Berlin, and Brookfield Rehabilitation who provided her with amazing care throughout her illness. In her spare time, Sherrill enjoyed her many pets and visits to the casino.
While the pandemic made her final days difficult, we were able to hold her hand before her body left this Earth. It is with this act of love and grace that we know she is finally at peace.
A celebration of Sherrill’s life will take place privately with immediate family. A formal memorial will be planned in Spring.
In lieu of flowers/donations, please support the frontline healthcare employees who work tirelessly to keep our loved ones healthy and safe.
We love you mom.

Miss our morning breakfast at Johnny V’S, we always found things to talk about I remember our trip to Vegas,it was warm, and we walked the whole strip stopping at all the casinos, sometimes just to look around, then gamble at some. It was wee hours of the morning, and we just had to have the biggest hot fudge sundaes, the end to a perfect day
