Passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on January 10, 2021, age 90. Preceded in his death by his loving wife, Carole, of 67 years. They were childhood sweethearts. Proud father of Dana Kirk Vogeler, Rae Sharlene Vogeler (Michael Wunsch), and Jeffrey Scott Vogeler (Laurie Newman). Loving grandfather of Jesse Vogeler-Wunsch and Carlos Vogeler-Wunsch.

Roy was a wonderful provider for his family and loved his job as a lumber salesman for forty years. He gave back to his community as a member of the Glendale Building Board for over three decades.

He was a Korean War veteran and avid sportsman. As an active member of Ducks Unlimited, Roy hunted for ducks, geese, and pheasants. He treasured being at the family cottage in Crivitz, Wisconsin, where he deer hunted, fished, boated, managed trees, and just walked in the woods. He had special moments at the cottage with his grandsons, whom he dearly loved. They toasted marshmallows, told stories, played games, and watched fireworks.

Roy cherished holidays and family dinners. He especially liked the cooking of his mother and wife. He insisted that the family continue to have Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners even after Carole passed away. He was very happy to spend his last Thanksgiving with his daughter and son-in-law. He also enjoyed celebrating his final Labor Day in the backyard with family and friends. That was a special day for him, when he could eat corn on the cob and barbecued wings, while chatting and looking out on his lovely yard. Roy was very proud of his trees and flower gardens, and took great pleasure in viewing birds, rabbits, and other wildlife. He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Dottie, who was at his side in the yard or house. Dottie was a faithful companion who followed him wherever he went.

Roy was loved by many friends and relatives who will sincerely miss him. A memorial service (celebration of life) and interment will be held at a future date to be determined.
