During his long life, he worked in many jobs including cutting ice for old-fashioned ice chests to employment with the Civilian Conservation Corps to working at Dr. Pepper bottling plant and working in shipping on Lake Superior. After the war, he met and married Mary Anderson, started his family and completed a 25+ year career at Bucyrus Erie where the company was engaged in the manufacturing of mining equipment. After his retirement in 1986, he spent time with his wife, children, and many grandchildren helping out with numerous endeavors and first homes.
