On Sunday, November 20, 2022, our beloved brother, Phillip (Junior) J. Morales age 72, went to his heavenly home.
At Boy’s Tech, Phil made his mark as a gifted student and an accomplished athlete. Setting course records, he led the cross-country team to a state championship.
After being pursued by a number of colleges, Phil chose Grinnell College in Iowa. The first in his family to attend college, he graduated with a BS in communications. He continued his athletic career as well and earned an MVP award on the Grinnell track team.
Phil went on to be a San Antonio Light newspaper reporter. He also served as the public relations reporter for a prominent Hispanic organization, and he then became a technical writer. In addition, he authored the book GOTT’CHA! which explains in detail how to solve the Rubik’s cube.
Phil loved to travel and fly drones. He founded his own elevation photography company.
Phil is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Phil and Margaret and his sister Karen Georgiev (Rumen) and his brother Victor. He is survived by sister Diane Brooks(Jeff), his brothers David(Tina) and John Mueller (Gail) as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Committal Service will be held at Forest Home Cemetery, 2405 West Forest Home Avenue, on Friday, November 25, 2022. Meet at the grave site at 2:30 PM.
