Nancy J. Bright (née Honzik), age 80, passed away April 23, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, she brought warmth, kindness and joy to so many
people.
Born on May 6, 1944 in Duluth, Minnesota, Nancy grew up in Milwaukee and attended Rufus King High School. She lived a life full of dedication, laughter, and quiet strength. Her work ethic was unmatched. She believed in doing the right thing, working hard, and loving fiercely. She was sometimes sassy, sometimes stubborn, but also extremely generous and kind. Throughout her life, she loved joining family and friends, for a game of cribbage or cards, dinner at Milwaukee Steakhouse or Conejitos, gabbing over drip candles while listening to a Chicago album, dancing at church festivals/Summerfest, and planting flowers on a sunny day. She was a true green thumb, able to nurture even the most challenging plants!
Throughout her career, Nancy was the steady hand behind the scenes at several respected companies, including Camadon, Strong Capital Management, and Wells Fargo Asset Management. She brought a sense of calm, order, and dependability to every office she touched. Colleagues remember her for her sharp organization, practical mindset, and unwavering reliability—qualities that made her the backbone of the teams she supported.
Nancy is survived by her daughters, Wendy, Dawn, and Kelly R. (Joe) Vandenbush, and was a dear “Grammies” to Zack (Jamie Bayliss) Goehner, Jessica (Goncalo) Borges, Jack Ryan, and Ela Ryan. She was also a proud Great-Grammies to Luke and Will Goehner. She was further loved by many other friends and relatives.
Special thanks to Brittany of Horizon Hospice, the staff at Three Pillars in Dousman, and Dr. Joshua Aronson and the nurses at Froedtert Menomonee Falls for being so kind and taking wonderful care of her.
She will be remembered with every red jelly bean, every blooming flower, and every shared meal among loved ones.
