Marilyn Hlavenka

Marilyn Helen Hlavenka (nee Knuth) passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at the age of 95. Loving wife of Louis and mother of Greg, Jackie (Taylor) and Michael. Sister of Lois Spencer and brothers Claude, Glen and Wayne Knuth. Proud Grandma of Scott, Michael and Nicole Hlavenka. Also loved by other relatives and friends.

Marilyn was very active her entire life.  During WW 2, she volunteered for the USO and worked at Cutler Hammer where she was on the team that was developing systems for submarines. She later worked in the Proof and Encoding department for First Wisconsin from which she retired.

After retirement, she enjoyed traveling, going on cruises and participating in church activities. Marilyn’s favorite treat was peanut butter cups and to honor her love of them, she is taking some with her.

Preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Martha and brothers Claude, Glen and sister Lois.  Further survived by her brother Wayne and wife Marge.

A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021, at Krause Funeral Home at 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53223 from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM with small service to follow.
