Waldmer, John Joseph
March 12, 1940 – February 9, 2024

John Joseph Waldmer passed to Eternal Life on February 9, 2024, at age 84 years.  John was born in Milwaukee to Michael Waldmer and Doris (Spellman) Waldmer.  Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Thomas Waldmer, and Alycemae (Waldmer) Potak. He is survived by several generations of nieces and nephews. He enjoyed his friends within his Senior Living Community, and acquaintances he met through his many domestic and foreign trips.

John graduated from South Division High School in 1959.  After High School John took a job at Allen Bradley as a Class “A” Riveter. On May 13, 1964 he enlisted to serve his country in the US Air Force as an Airman.  He was honorably discharged on February 9, 1967.

Following the Air Force, John returned to Allen Bradley.  Over the following years he pursued two degrees.  An Associate Degree at Milwaukee Area Technical College and a Bachelors Degree at University of Milwaukee.  He also took the opportunity to enjoy traveling to foreign countries and within the US with a focus on the history of churches and his love of geography.

To his nieces and nephews, he was also known for randomly sending little packages to them.  It was always a surprise what his packages contained.

Visitation will be at Krause Funeral home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Friday March 1, 2024 with visitation from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM and memorial service from 7:00-8:00 PM.

Private Internment or burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
