Always Loved…Forever Missed…Never Forgotten…
Jean Mary Jablonowski (nee Turnpaugh), age 72, returned home to her heavenly Father on October 11, 2021, after fighting a brave battle with Covid-19. She was born on August 17, 1949 to Beverly (Johnston) and Robert E Turnpaugh, Sr.
Jean lived in the Milwaukee area her entire life. She graduated from Brown Deer High School and attended Sacred Heart School of Practical Nursing and graduated with an LPN license in 1969. She worked at the VA and DePaul hospitals for nearly 20 years before retiring in 1991.
Throughout her life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.
Her contributions to the lives of many include her membership in the Associate Relationship with the Sisters of St Francis of Assisi for 16 years. Additionally, Jean shared her deep-rooted faith with many as a volunteer lay minister, offering prayers, communion, and companionship to the ill at St. Francis Hospital. Most recently, she served on the Church Council at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Jean lived in peace, in love, and in grace. She loved and cared for her family and friends deeply. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by all.
Jean is survived by her four children, Brian (Maggie) Jablonowski, Gregg (Lisa) Jablonowski, Dawn (James) Shepherd and Nicole Jablonowski, as well as grandchildren Tyler, Amari, Gavin, Lauren, Gianna, Addison, Mason, Joshua, Conor, Oliver and Sara. She is also survived by four sisters, Margaret (Ted) Hochwalt, Catherine Turnpaugh, Susan Halaska, Ellen (Ron) Chicka, and brothers Robert Turnpaugh, Jr (Carol Gohlighly) and Daniel (Suzy) Turnpaugh as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother David Turnpaugh.
The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers and the ICU staff at Aurora St Luke’s South Shore for taking such great care of her on the last weeks of her life when we could not be with her.
Please join her family at the gathering on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 3600 S Kinnickinnic Avenue, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM with mass to follow. Masks required.

I will miss my dear friend of 30 years. We spent numerous phone calls and lunches together and shared life's ups and downs with each other. No one can replace Jean in exactly the same way. I am grateful she no longer has any pain.
