Welcomed into heaven and found his peace on Sunday, March 7, 2021, age 88.

Reunited with his beloved wife Barbara Ann Born, daughter Laura Marie Born, his parents Reverend Paul H. and Sophia (Zarling) Born, brothers Reverend Dr. Charles H. Born, Robert Born, Thomas Born,  sisters Lois Bruss (Born), and his Savior Jesus Christ. Loving father of Richard James Born, and Lisa Marie (Born) Long. Loving grandfather of Quinn Allen Long, Clete Sandford Long IV, and Daniel James Long.  Loving great- grandfather of Moses Long and Roman Long. Brother of John (Mary Beth) Born, Carol Cobus, Grace Krewson, and Leah (Jack) Wiedenfeld. Further loved by many other relatives and friends.

He spent many years as a professional race car driver, film maker, an entrepreneur in kitchen remolding, roofing and machinery. Jim even spent time as a pilot, bringing out his daring side wing walking. He was well known around the community for his relentless effort to help the needy, impeding crime in all types of weather usually on his bicycle, earning him the nickname Biker Jimmy.

As Jim would say, “Smile keep looking up!”
