James L. Sheahan, born August 27, 1939, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, just three days shy of his 87th birthday.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Alice Sheahan, whose guidance and love helped shape the steady, thoughtful man he became.

A proud graduate of New London High School, Jim went on to earn his degree from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh. He began his career in the financial industry at First State Bank in New London, where he quickly earned a reputation for integrity, reliability, and a calm, measured approach to helping others.

Jim later continued his work at National Savings & Loan in New Berlin, eventually moving into mortgage banking, where his expertise and steady presence supported countless families through important milestones.

Deeply committed to his community, Jim served as an Alderman for the City of New Berlin, offering thoughtful leadership and a strong sense of civic responsibility. He was an active member of the New Berlin Rotary and New Berlin Lions, and he devoted time and energy as a board member for the MACC Fund, supporting critical work in childhood cancer.

Jim is survived by his sister, Mary Lou (Charles) Reuter, and his nieces Amy (Eric) Kulwicki and Kimberly (Kevin) Leidel. They will forever cherish his quiet strength, warm presence, and the kindness he shared so generously throughout his life.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on September 2, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 12700 West Howard Avenue, New Berlin. The Mass will be officiated by Fr. Michael Malucha.

His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure.
