James Jacobi, 80, passed away on May 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on June 19, 1945, he lived a life marked by service, integrity, and quiet strength.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage, discipline, and unwavering dedication to his fellow soldiers. His military service remained a source of pride throughout his life and helped shape the values he carried forward.
After his time in the Army, he continued his commitment to others by volunteering at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center. Through his steady presence, kindness, and professionalism, he made a lasting impact on veterans, staff, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Above all, he was a devoted father and family man. He is survived by his children: Eric and his wife Michelle, and their daughter Aubrey; and Adam and his husband Scott. He is also survived by his sister Arleen, as well as many nieces and nephews. They will forever cherish his guidance, humor, and unconditional love.
His beloved granddaughter, Aubrey, brought him immense joy and pride, and he treasured every moment with her.
He had a lifelong passion for woodworking, taking pride in creating pieces that were both practical and meaningful. He also enjoyed supporting high school speech and debate, helping students build confidence, clarity, and presence. In addition, he maintained a deep appreciation for classic cars, admiring their craftsmanship, history, and the nostalgia they carried.
Committal service with military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin, on June 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects.
He will be remembered for his humility, generosity of spirit, and steadfast care for others. His life was a testament to service and love, and he leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
