Eunice Kelley completed life’s journey on May 7, 2026, at the age of 96 years, and what a journey it was. She was born to Anton and Anna Smukowski on August 30, 1929. She had two sisters, Loretta and Gloria, both of whom preceded her in death.
She attended St. Mary’s Academy for high school and St. Agnes School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1950.
She married Will Kelley in 1955 and they had four beautiful children, Colleen, Brian, Cathleen and Thomas. Colleen (Allen) blessed her with three grandchildren (Terry, Kelley and Travis) and seven great grandchildren (Addison, Rylee, Parker, Emery, Ella, Sienna and Harlow). Brian (now married to Roxy) blessed her with two grandchildren (Gwendolyn and Faye, mother Julie), Cathleen one grandchild (Jorgie) and Thomas (Kim) two grandchildren (Harper and Payton).
She was an active member at Immaculate Heart of Mary, serving as a Eucharistic minister for forty years and involved in IHM’s festivals and social activities. More recently she attended mass as often as she could at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
She loved playing golf, cards, reading, and attending local theater performances, the latter three being hobbies she enjoyed well into her 90’s. She was a great conversationalist, warm and inviting to all she was around and never shy about sharing her feelings.
After Will’s passing, she moved into the Regency New Berlin where she made a new circle of very dear friends, playing bingo, sheepshead, shutbox and being active as an Ambassador and in the many social events the Regency offered. She loved her family, adored her grandchildren and kept her friends active and laughing until the very end. She will be missed very much by all.
The family would like to acknowledge the many special people that supported and enabled Eunice in many ways as her eyesight and mobility diminished over the years. Without your support she could not have enjoyed her life to the degree that she did. We love you and thank you for that.
In celebration of Eunice’s life, a memorial service will be held at the ProHealth Regency Senior Community in New Berlin at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 20, 2026. The best entrance to access the service
is 13755 West Fieldpointe Drive, New Berlin.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations either to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton or the Milwaukee Repertory Theater.
