Emily Niemann

(nee Zego) 96 years old, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2017 at the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice.  She was born on February 16, 1921.  She was preceded in death by her husband William.  Loving mother of William (Carol), Susan, Cynthia (Steven) Wollak, and James.  She was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren:  David (Julie), Douglas, Daniel (Sorrel), Caroline, Timothy (Briana), Nicholas, Kaitlin, Joseph, Charles and Jennifer and five great grandchildren:  Ashley, Griffin, Sophie, Sadie and Tllie.  She is also survived by her beloved brother-in-law, Lawrence Jarnigo and other family and friends.

She helped her husband build their family home in Elm Grove where she was a long time resident.  She also worked beside him in their family business, Niemann’s Homemade Candies of Wauwatosa which is now being run by their youngest son, Jim.  She helped manage, make the candy and keep the books.  She even kept her hand in the business in her later life.  She did pretty much everything while raising four children and running the family home.

Relatives and friends may gather in celebrating Emily’s life from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Friday, November 10, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church Elm Grove, 1260 Church Street, Elm Grove, WI 53122.  A Memorial Service will follow.  Private burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

A special word of thanks to the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice staff and other care givers who so sympathetically and lovingly made Emily’s last days comfortable.  They truly are angels on earth.
