Douglas Moore, lovingly referred to as Doug, was called home to be with the Lord on March 25, 2025, at the age of 73. He was the Prince Charming to his wife Caryn Moore (Krause) and loving father to his daughter Audrey Moore. Douglas was born to Reynold Moore Sr. and Annie Milsap (Banks) in Tupelo, Mississippi on April 6, 1951. In his youth, Douglas enjoyed helping the family on the farm, getting lost in nature, and spending quality time with his father. In 1957, he moved with his family to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he continued to collect stories of his youth with his siblings, nieces, and nephews.
In 1984, Douglas met who would end up being his adoring wife Caryn and would marry in 1989. Together, they enjoyed interior decorating, cooking, leisurely car rides, and countless inside jokes. Together, they brought their daughter, Audrey, into the world in 1992. After working in wholesale bakery management and jewelry sales for over 20 years, Douglas became an outstanding stay-at-home father.
In 1996, Douglas renewed his faith in the Lord and was baptized at Parklawn Assembly of God Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He remained steadfast in his faith as God’s love and wisdom shined through him in all aspects of his life.
Douglas truly had a sharp sense of style. One would never catch him without either one of his signature Stenson hats, leather boots, or trench coats. His style paired perfectly with his taste and love for music, more specifically smooth jazz, R&B, funk, and many other genres. He was truly moved by the transformative power of music as one would find him blasting his music full volume and peacefully nodding his head to the rhythm. Douglas was also a talented home cook, a formidable chess player, and had an affinity for filling a home with rich plants.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents Reynold Clayborne Moore Sr. and Annie Milsap (Moore), his brothers Calvin Milsap, Andrew Milsap, John Moore, and his sisters Mary Smith and Josephine Ford (Milsap). He is survived by his wife Caryn Moore (Krause), his daughter Audrey Moore, his sister Charlie Lou Shackleford and brother Reynold (Rosy) Moore Jr.
