Passed peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at age 83 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Pat of 64 years. Loving father of Mike (Sue), Donna (Greg), Dianne, Lorie (Keith). Dear Grandfather of Jackie (Russ), Trish (Rick), Jenni, Brittney (Dan), Brandon (Renee). Proud Great-Grandfather of Jonah, Julia, Malayeh, Charlie, Bella & Oliver. Further loved by other relatives & friends.
Due to COVID, there will be no formal services. A private memorial for the immediate family to follow. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated, as he fought a long hard battle with the disease.
Don was a wonderful husband and father and was an exceptionally hard-working family man. He took pride in the 40 plus years working for the same company. He loved the outdoors and spending time at the cottage that he helped build in northern Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating and shared his love of these activities with his family. He enjoyed taking his children and grandchildren skiing and tubing on Silver Lake.
A heartfelt thank you to Heartland Hospice for all their compassionate care of this special man. We would also like to thank all of the neighbors who supported Don and his family in his trying journey.
Farewell to a great man……we all love and miss you more than words can say

My favorite memory of Don was the week that I spent up at the cabin. We all got nicknames that week and his was Don Jag . He loved to tease me endlessly. He'd take me water skiing and then tell me I'd have to pay for the gas. I always knew he was joking and loved the attention that I got. The day that I learned that he passed it felt like a piece of my childhood was lost. The father of my very best friend Dianne was no longer with us. I am heartbroken for the family but so grateful that I was able to share some time with him and and the family. Those were the best days of my life. My heart breaks for the family and for all that knew and loved him. Wishing you all peace and love.....Becky
