David Nicholas Puetzer “Dave” of Pewaukee was born to Eternal Life on December 7, 2021, age 70.  He was the much loved husband and soul mate of Bonnie (nee Wiegand). Dave and Bonnie met as teenagers and were married for 47 years.

Survived by his father Herbert, his brothers James (Eunice) and Richard, and his sisters Mary (late, Mike) Milliren, Margaret (Tony) LaMalfa and Susan Boomgaarden and fourteen nieces and nephews.  His mother Dorothy preceded him in death.  Dave treasured his extended family and friends with some friendships spanning more than 50 years.  Many loved him like a father, brother and mentor.

Dave was very talented.  After college he started a career in home remodeling.  He designed and built hundreds of kitchens, bathrooms and finished basements.  Dave had high standards for quality.  He never advertised and as each project was completed, word of mouth brought him the next job.  He used to say he had more work than he could manage and sometimes had to turn projects down.

He had a passion for travel, hunting, fishing, and his wine cellar.  His travels were for new adventures, relaxation, hunting, and fishing.  Sometimes he drove to a destination, sometimes traveled by air, and many times he and Bonnie just relaxed on a cruise ship.  He visited more than 50 countries and went on more than 40 cruises. He was also an active member of the Waukesha Gun Club and helped to coordinate hunting trips, shooting events and social gatherings.

Dave and Bonnie lived on Pewaukee Lake.  Their house is small, but cozy.  Dave remodeled every room and tailored them to their lifestyle, adding a Gazebo and a deck.  His final project was to remodel their boathouse, which he did with great joy.  He encouraged people to just drop in for a visit whenever they were in the neighborhood.  Dave and Bonnie also hosted many gatherings of friends and family at their home.  Dave loved the lake and would take friends and family for rides on his pontoon boat.  On quiet Sundays, often times you could find Dave and Bonnie on the boat or the deck of the boathouse relaxing and just enjoying life and each other.

Dave loved life and lived it fully.  All those who loved him will agree that at age 70, it was far too short.  He still had much more living to do.  He will be forever missed by so many people, especially his much loved wife, Bonnie.  May he rest in peace.

Dave requested that a Celebration of Life be held at his home on Pewaukee Lake.   This will be planned for the summer of 2022.
