Charlene “Char” Heinemann (nee Kavina) of Brookfield, WI died on September 28, 2021, at the age of 75. Loving wife to the love of her life of 51 years, Stefan Heinemann Jr., and proud mother to her two favorite daughters, Jennifer (Daniel) and Sara (Phillip). Devoted grandma of Jonathon, Gabriella, Maxwell, and Emerson.
Char was raised on a dairy farm in Phillips, Wisconsin, but left to attend nursing school at The Cradle in Evanston, Illinois. She worked as a neonatal nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital in Milwaukee until she retired to devote her time to raising her girls. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating for the holidays (her home was famous for its Christmas decorations), going on antiquing road trips with Steve, volunteering as a room mother at her children’s schools, hosting dinner parties and baking desserts that Martha Stewart would be envious of, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events.
Preceded in death by her parents, George and Dorothy Kavina. Further survived by her cherished sister and best friend Gayle and her brother Roger.
Following her wishes, there will not be a service or funeral. Well-wishers are encouraged to have a piping hot cup of coffee and a chocolate dessert in her honor.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association, The Cradle in Evanston, Illinois, or American Diabetes Association.
