Audriann (Audrey, Audri, Aunty Audrey, Aunty Poopsie, Aunty)
Audriann Bonk, 88 found peace on May 17, 2023. She was born on March 20, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI. She was the 8th of 9 children of Katherine and John Bonk. She was one of the five beautiful girls and four handsome boys in the loving family. She now joins all her family members. She is survived and loved by many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews and great-great- nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Audrey graduated from Bay View High School in 1953, then joined the Air Force. After completing her years of service, Audrey worked for JCPenney Department Store in a data entry role throughout her adult life. Outside of work she enjoyed attending theater and musical productions with her sister Reggie, golfing, dining out, and shopping with family and friends. Her Catholic faith was an important part of her life.
In retirement Audrey enjoyed social events with family and friends. She was there for every birthday, graduation, shower, and wedding. She was the fun Auntie! Dinner/cook outs, travel (a trip to Door County or simply a short drive), playing bingo, and cards with her friends, a glass of wine, or a Mount Royal Light whiskey, and caffeine free diet Pepsi all brought her joy. Consistent throughout her life was her enthusiasm for the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers, and Turner Classic movies.
Audrey was most attentive to her appearance. A coordinated outfit accented by jewelry (sparkly earrings, shiny watch, gold necklace) was a given. Her hair was her priority. Audrey thoroughly enjoyed weekly, then biweekly visits to the hairdresser. Nieces and nephews of all ages delighted in trying to pat the top of Auntie’s never-moving hair. There were many laughs and giggles as she shooed them away.
Audrey will be missed but fondly remembered by many.
