Went to Heaven on November 6, 2016, age 88. Loving mother of Annette (Robert) Bertelsen, Anita J. (James) Martin, and Beth (Scott) Otto. Dear grandmother to Collin and Elliott Chaffin, Derek and Corey Bertelsen, Zachary Schuster, and Kendall Otto. Also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, Phi Delta Delta sorority sisters, and other loving friends and relatives. We find comfort in knowing she is joyously reunited with her daughter Lynne Chaffin Schuster, infant grandson Alexander Chaffin, brother Donald Webb, former husband and friend Robert, and other relatives and friends.

Please join us for a gathering to remember, honor, and celebrate Audrey’s life in the chapel (3rd Floor) at Shorehaven Health and Rehabilitation Center, 1305 West Wisconsin Avenue, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin,  on Friday November 18, 2016, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Memorial service starts at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Elmbrook Humane Society or Shorehaven Charitable Foundation would be appreciated.

A bit more about our beloved Mom…

Over the years, Audrey (fondly called “Aud” at times) enjoyed her dogs, which included a German Shepherd (“Rin Tin Tin”), Golden Retriever (rescued) “Duke,” and a mixed breed we all loved named “Barfy.” She always got great delight in hearing stories about the many antics of the grand-dogs and grand-cats.

Friends and family always felt welcome at Audrey’s home in Brookfield, where they could count on intelligent conversation, thoughtful advice, and lots of laughs. Oh, and just the right color of Magic Marker to “fix” (or shall we say, hide?) the scrape on the side of one of the teenage visitor’s mother’s car…

An avid reader, Audrey also enjoyed movies. Her recall of actors from any decade was second to none!

Back in the day, Audrey was quite the “Horse Mom” – similar to today’s enthusiastic “Soccer Mom.” She had fun watching the family’s American Saddlebred horses as they competed at the horse shows, and made many long-time cherished friendships along the way.

Our gratitude to so many individuals…

We would like to thank all of the kind, compassionate caregivers at Shorehaven Tower (assisted living) as well as Shorehaven Nursing Center.

We would also like to thank Audrey’s physician, Dr. William Cooper, and his Nurse Practitioner, Michelle, and the Vitas hospice team.
