Anton “Tony” Taubner

April 29, 1934 - May 7, 2018

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, May 7, 2018, at the age of 84. He was a loving husband, father, Opa (grandfather), and friend.

Tony was born in Otok, Yugoslavia (Croatia) on April 29, 1934, to Jack and Karolina Taubner. He is survived by his four younger siblings, Steffi, Matt, Joseph, and Anna.

Tony came to the United States in 1955, and served in the US Army (Battery A, 42D, Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion) in Ft. Collins, Colorado from 1956-1957. He established Cutweld Corporation, a custom steel fabrication business, in 1973.

Husband to and forever loved by Katharina (nee Beck) for 59 years. Proud father of three sons, Tony (Cindy), Paul (Colleen) and Greg (Lisa).  Loved and cherished Opa to Tylor, Alisha, Abigail, Megan, Nicole, Victoria, Danielle, Kalan, Cassandra, Elizabeth and Shaye.

Private services held.

In lieu of flowers memorials appreciated to Holy Hill Catholic Church.

Tony was a gentle and kind father-in-law and I will truly miss him. When I married his oldest son, Tony, in 1986, he accepted me into the family with open arms, and I truly felt blessed. Tony and I have four daughters who loved their Opa dearly. With slumber parties, Door County weekends, tropical vacations, Easter egg hunts, and much more, Opa always had such patience and joy when he was around our girls. He has left an imprint on our hearts that will live with us forever. Rest In peace, dear loved one.
