It is with great joy that we celebrate the life and final homecoming of Alivra Marie (Schmidt) Nemetz to heaven, where she is now in eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Alvira was born on May 26th, 1932 in Thorp Wisconsin to Edwin and Harriet Schmidt. After one year of college at Mount Mary in Milwaukee, WI. Alvira married Peter J. Nemetz and they raised 7 children. Mary Anne Devine (John), Peter Richard, Deborah Anne Hersherberger (Bob), Michael John, Paul Francis, Joseph John and Mark Christoper (Katherine). Alvira went on to work at the YWCA and Western Products followed by Systemation Engineered Products where she began doing bookkeeping and continued to gain experience and work her way up through the organization. Her first major accomplishment was being the lead person to transition the company from paper ledgers to being fully computerized. After a merger and acquisition, Alvira retired as the Chief Financial Officer of Systemation at 72 years of age.
In her retirement Alvira was an active member of her faith communities in whatever place she called home. A favorite ministry of hers, while in her eighties. was providing transportation to the “elderly” which gave her an opportunity to drive on the freeway! She enjoyed multiple overseas trips to Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. A great delight was her role as Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Hannah M. Hershberger, Aaron Hershberger (Hannah J.), Nate Nemetz (daughter Joy), Cecelia McCabe (Matt and their twin sons James and John), Sara Nemetz, and David Nemetz (Janelle). Alvira is further survived by her sibling Jude Schmidt (Martiann) and sisters-in-law Evelyn Schmidt and Marge Schimdt, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Alvira was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Peter Nemetz, beloved sons Peter Richard and Joseph John, siblings; Ceylon, Joel, Armon, Allen and Yvonne.
