I knew John in high school-- or thought I did. This eulogy told me I barely knew him! I wish had knew what kind of person he'd become. Thank you, cousins,, for writing this obituary for him. Every one deserves a thoughtful end.

John and I became friends through the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus. He was always so positive and friendly. I’ll think of you at Messiah rehearsals, my friend. Enjoy your new choir up there.

I sang with him in the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus. One of the best moments in the Holiday Pops concerts would be seeing him with his Santa hat- and his red Santa shorts over his tuxedo pants!

Sending John's beloved family, of which I am honored to count myself among, my deepest condolences for the loss of such a vibrant soul. A treasured memory I have of Uncle John was when he volunteered to dress up as Santa for holiday photos at my place of work. We were able to offer all the families who worked in our plant the opportunity to come in and have their photo taken with Santa at no charge, and he was beloved by all. He cherished every single child, family, and moment together. It's one of my fondest memories of him and the size of his heart. He will be missed.

I was John’s roommate on the Europe trip in 2006. I also met John with the southern Nevada musical art Society people. He was one of my best musical friends.

What a lovely tribute, Christyne! I remember him getting out his guitar when my family visited his family at the Gibbs Farm Museum, but I did not know that music became a lifelong passion. He will be missed by many. My sincerest condolences to all, especially his children and grandchildren. Nancy Showe (cousin)

Uncle John was always quick to jump in with a song lyric, a saying, a joke, or an anecdote. I’ll greatly miss canasta games with him and all the shenanigans that he, Papa, Barisha, Auntie Chris, Rikka, and I would get up to. I will always remember his laughter.
