I will miss my brother. His humor was the best. I have some awesome childhood memories of Joe. Joe and Dan always got into a lot of trouble together. Joe, enjoy your talks with Dad about the lake. Give mom and Dan a hug from me. Love you Bro

Thank you for giving my mom some of the best years of her life. I never saw her as happy as I did when she was with you. You were a great husband to her, and a great stepdad to me. You will be missed greatly.

Less than a year ago we were waiting on what turned out to be his ALS diagnoses he sent me this message. I am the richest man, what great friends.... like the angel said to George Bailey .... you see Joe you really do have a wonderful life. That in a nutshell describes how he lived. He laughed hard and often and made everyone around him happier. He didn't have time for negative people because he lived by the " life is just too short", and he was right. From our childhood eveything, to sports (Joe the hawk), to singing in our crappy band, to our weddings, our kids calling him hoser (that's Mr Hosehead !) and the stories that would always attract an audience, he will be missed but never forgotten. Not being able to see him the last few months was painful. I take some consolation that we left off on the same note every visit: Love you brother

Just hanging out at one of the many 4th of July party's and listening to Joe tell a story of some ill advised, over inebriated neighbor friend at a Brewer game. It would get us all laughing. We're going to miss your infectious laugh my friend.
