Wally (Lala) was welcomed into heaven by his parents Walter Sr. and Mary, and his brothers Warren and Donnie on Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 6:35 AM at the age of 89.

He leaves behind to mourn his passing his sister Carol, his nieces Lori (Steven) Morell, Donna (John) O’Malley, Diane (Randy) Walker, Gail (Jim) Wolfgram, Mary Fritz, Katherine (Rick) Bongiorno, Debbie Steffen, and nephew Mark Steffen.  His loss will also be deeply felt by his great-nieces and nephews and their families; Kelly (Paul Kosanke) Wagner, Beth (John) Sawant, Tammy (Dan) Wilcox, Jenni O’Malley, Tommy (Vanessa) Jackson, John Jackson, Dawn (Kamron) Thornhill, Bryan Warner (Scott), Leah (Brian) Kochamba, Brandon Eversmann and Brent Eversmann.

A quiet man, he enjoyed the simple things in life; being outdoors, watching the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers, reading old books, the Sunday paper, the pears from Barthel’s Orchard, trips to the State Fair, cream puffs, Horicon Marsh in the fall and a good cup of coffee to name a few.  All things he shared with his nieces and nephews, their children, and their children’s children.

You never know what life has in store and Wally was there to help when things got tough for his sister. He and his brother Don stepped in to help raise her family and for that, they will be eternally grateful.

Wally made certain we understood what was really important without ever saying it; be there because you want to, not because you have to, and spend time with the people you love.

Although he lived at home, the final week of his life was spent at Lawlis Hospice (Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s in Ozaukee Co) where he received the best of care and although very limited, family was allowed to be with him for which we are forever thankful.

Wally was an AC Delco retiree.

Per his request, there will be no services.
