Trenee Wells
Trenee Wells was born on November 6, 1971, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, at the age of 53. A beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, Trenee brought light, laughter, and love to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A proud 1989 graduate of Bay View High School, Trenee was a standout athlete who played varsity basketball all four years. Her dedication and talent earned her a full scholarship to the prestigious Yale University, a reflection of her remarkable character both on and off the court.
Trenee was preceded in death by her loving parents, Colette Wells and Lynn Wells. She leaves behind her three children—Victor Rose Jr., Imani Ortiz, and Treveon Murphy—whom she adored and nurtured with unwavering love. She was also a caring mother and sister to her extended Murphy family, always ready with support and guidance.
Her brothers, Andre Wells and Robert Wells, along with her dear Aunt Cheryl and cousins Qionna, Kisha, Miranda, Tajuana, Barry, Greg, James, Lonnie, Jada, Trainae, and many others, will deeply feel her absence.
Trenee had a radiant spirit and a generous heart. Her infectious laugh, compassionate nature, and the warmth she shared with others left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, love, and the memories she created will continue to live on in our hearts.

Trenee was a student in my class at BV and I mentored her all four years of high school. She had a bubbly personality and many people were drawn to her because of it. After graduation, Trenee continued to keep in contact and occasionally stopped by my house. I was truly shocked to find out about her transition.
