Sister Margaret Underwood, SFCC, daughter of Ruth and Frank Underwood, deceased, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022, leaving behind her twin sister, Martha Staral (husband Al and family), sister, Jane Rasmussen (husband Elroy and family), brother, Peter, deceased (son, Peter Jr.}, sister, Kathleen (family). Margaret began formation with the School Sister of Notre Dame Order at St. Mary’s Academy High School in Prairie du Chien and graduated in 1956. She made her profession to the Notre Dame Order and graduated from Mount Mary College with a bachelor degree in Education. She taught grade schools in Wisconsin and Illinois. In 1978 she founded the We Four Program, an advocacy program for the elderly sponsored by four eastside parishes and resigned in 1999. During that time she raised her niece, Bridget, for 6 years. In 1981 she joined the Sisters For Christian Community. She continued to take classes at Mundelein (master degree of arts in religious study) and various classes at UW-M. Margaret worked as a poll worker for many years. She was an active member of SS. Peter and Paul and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She is greatly missed by many.
Gathering at Saints Peter and Paul, 2490 North Cramer, Milwaukee, WI, 53211, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM-1200 PM. Private burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations to the church are appreciated.

I remember how Sr. Margaret was involved in parish activities at Ss. Peter and Paul. I admire her courageous spirit,ceating a program for the elderly on the East Side. She will be missed by family members and friends.
