Spearman, Nancy J.
(nee Norman) Passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, August 31, 2020, at the age of 88. Beloved wife of Robert E. Spearman. Loving mother of Elisa Jane (Otilio) Oyervides and Lesli Reed (Matthew) Friel. Nancy was the proud grandmother to Kieran, Katie, and Maggie Friel. Preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene Spearman. She was further loved by many other friends and family.
Nancy’s life was filled with accomplishments including serving the Office of the Minority Leader of the New York State Assembly, hosting her own public affairs show, “Live Line” on PBS which addressed political issues of importance to New York State residents. She excelled in opera, achieving a master’s degree in Music from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. She also graced the airwaves as “Miss Nancy” on Romper Room.
A force to be reckoned with, as many co-workers and friends described her – she was a shining star.
Now the sky shines brighter just as she always illuminated our lives both in life and now, in death. Forever in our hearts and until we meet again; “See you then”.

I was so sad to hear of your mother's passing. I knew Nancy thru our PiBeta Phi alumnae group in Schenectady. She always had such energy. I admired her and all her activities. I imagine that it is a big loss in your life to have her gone!
