Margaret "Ellen" Grooms

Margaret Ellen (Meek) Grooms of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was born November 3, 1941 in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late John H. Meek Sr. and Myrtle E. (Jones) Meek.  She passed away peacefully at home on March 31, 2021 surrounded by her family.  Her parents were waiting to welcome her into heaven’s door, along with her beloved husband, Roy E. Grooms, sons, David R. Grooms and Frankie E. Grooms.  Several grandchildren, as well as her siblings.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Maggie (Tim) Peterson of North Carolina, Bonnie (Duncan) Ireland of Eagle, Wisconsin, Hazel Burrill of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Richard (Barbara) Grooms, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Felicia Haskins of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Nancy Grooms of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Margaret was affectionately known as Granny and Big Momma by her 21 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 15 Great-Great Grandchildren.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with being a housewife and mother, Margaret worked in the food industry.  A memorial picnic will be held for her family and friends at a future date.
