Linda Marie Dorna

Linda Marie Dorna lost her battle with cancer in the early morning hours of September 6, 2022, at age 73.

She is survived by her loving children Christopher Dorna (son) and Gabriele Dorna (daughter). She was also blessed with two granddaughters, Lacy Polzin and Brittany (Polzin) Williams. Brittany gave her a beautiful great-grandson Gavin Williams, and a great-granddaughter Margaret Williams. She also is survived by her sister Bobbie and brother Ronald Klim and many nieces & nephews. She was not only loved and cherished by her many family members she was adored by her neighbors at the Arlington Heights apartments, and she adored them just as much. They always showed concern for her and our family is thankful to all who cared for her there.

Linda was a single mother who worked to support her children in many different places. As her daughter, I remember Robb Photo Studios. She and a close friend started a computer dating service in the mid to late 80s which was ambitious and bold for the times. The most outstanding achievement that gave her the most satisfaction was cooking in the kitchen for the homeless at Saint John’s Cathedral. She started as a cook and by the time she left she was the main cook working closely with Feed America.

Nothing made us more proud of her than her big heart and willingness to help anyone in need.

She was the glue that held our family together and will be greatly missed.

Per Linda’s wishes there will be no public services to be held.
