Lester M. Nustad passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. He was 99 years and 19 days old. He remained healthy in body and mind until this illness.

Lester was preceded in death by his loving wife Gertrude “Trudy”; his parents, Milton and Mabel of Westby, Wisconsin; his elder brother Alden and wife Clara; his younger brother Robert and wife Orvella; and his only nephew Richard.

Lester is survived by three nieces: Linda (Shadrach) Okiror; Karen (Paul) LaMere; Ann McLane; a great nephew, Patrick (Vanessa) Nustad; Richard’s widow Sherry; Harvey and Lois Stowe, family friends; and Donna Johnson, family friend and long-term care giver.

Lester served valiantly in the United States Army Engineering Division during WWII.  He was awarded four bronze battle stars for service at Normandy Beach and in France, Germany and Central Europe between August 1943 and November 1945.  He was a member of the Waukesha American Legion Post #8 until his death.

We wish to thank Avalon Square in Waukesha for the years of kindness and care shown to our uncle.
