Leighanne Whipkey was born on October 18th, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Raymond & Sheila Whipkey. On November 17th, 2025 Leighanne passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own bed at her home in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. She was 57 years old.
Leighanne was a very social person who loved spending time with friends and family. She absolutely adored her pug, Paisley Jane, and loved snuggling up with her. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee with a sweet treat while relaxing in her favorite recliner watching a crime show or scary movie, or sometimes reality TV. She always was up for a fun road trip while jamming out to Janis Joplin or Alanis Morrsete. Leighanne, very much like her mother, enjoyed Snoopy and decorating for holidays (especially Christmas) and of course shopping and buying gifts and trinkets for the ones she loved and cared for!
Leighanne was a wonderful mother, sister, daughter and a beloved friend to many. She was a very talkative & lovable women. She always would do her best to help those around her and be a supportive shoulder to lean on in times of need to those around her.
Leighanne is survived in death by her daughter, Rebecca Lewis of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, her brother, Erik Whipkey of Cadiz, Kentucky, her father, Raymond Whipkey of Cadiz, Kentucky, and her former spouse, Jerry Lewis of Illinois. She is also survived in death by several aunts & uncles, cousins, and friends.
Leighanne is proceeded in death by her Mother Sheila Whipkey, both maternal and paternal grandparents, her Aunt Kim, and former spouse, Joe Brown.
Leighanne’s Viewing/Visitation will be held on December 4th, 2025 at Krause Funeral home located at 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Viewing/Visitation will start at 1:00 PM and go until 2:30 PM, following Viewing/Visitation will be time spent in the on-site chapel from 2:30 PM – 3:00 PM where her Daughter will speak and others will have the opportunity to speak as well.
