Larry ‘Whistle” Turnage was born August 14, 1949, to the late James Turnage and Roberta Boyland Turnage in Widener, Arkansas. He departed this life on March 22, 2020, at the age of 70. Larry lived in Los Angeles, California for many years, then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2015, where he joined Family Worship Center Pentecostal Church of Holiness under the leadership of Pastor Willie D. Lewis. This is where he gave his life to Christ.
Larry leaves to cherish his memories; (6 children) Eric (Cynthia) Mitchell of Tallahassee, Florida; Miyoshi Mitchell (Stephen) Richardson of Tallahassee, Florida; Sentoria Turnage of Palmdale, California; Larry Turnage Jr. of Palmdale, California; Monique Pugh of Atlanta, Georgia and Lachisha Turnage of Long Beach, California; (6 step-children), Marian and Reginald Trice Jr., of Atlanta Georgia, Rose Pugh of Searcy Arkansas, Marsha Pugh, Everlyn Pugh, and Shelia Pugh all of Palmdale California.
He also leaves behind 27 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He leaves behind (7 sisters) Virgie Bryant of Palmdale, California; Francis Turnage of Los Angeles, California; Gladys McBride of St. Louis, Missouri; Roberta Dimarco of Palmdale, California; Catherine Turnage of Palmdale, California; Willie Mae Avery of Los Angeles, California; Annette Robertson of Palmdale, California and (2 brothers) James Turnage Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada and Herbert Turnage of Palmdale, California.
Also a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends where his memories shall live on in our hearts.
Preceded in death by his parents, James, and Roberta Turnage, 2 brothers; Charles Turnage and Bobby Turnage; 4 sisters; Paulette Turnage, Gracie Henderson, Dannie Betrice Turnage, and Regina Turnage.
