Karen Annette Rantanen, 74, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on July 22, 2020, after several years of declining health. Karen was born on November 21, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Rufus King High School. After secretarial school, she was employed by the City of Milwaukee, first at the library and then at branch offices of the health department. Karen possessed a very tender, kind heart along with a strong independent spirit. She loved shopping in her healthier days indulging those she loved with well planned, heartfelt gifts. Her attention to detail was especially evident as she conversed with people and in creating amazingly beautiful greeting cards. She loved a good joke and had a passion for food and sharing an abundant “spread” with others.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ada (Krier) Rantanen, sister Klea Roge and an infant nephew. She is survived by her brother William (Donna) Rantanen, special friends Ron Johnson
and Kay Zuberbier, nieces, a nephew, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank the staff members at Matthews of Hartland Assisted Living, Lake Country Health Services and Allay Hospice for their care of Karen the past
three years.
