Judith Lynn Halverson found her Eternal Peace on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the age of 75, the day after her birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Marion Halverson, her two brothers, Edward and Gerald Halverson, and two sisters, Ruth Emanuelson and Marion Piskula. Judith is survived by her sister, Shirley (Randy) Reinke and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and “grand” relatives, along with dear friends and neighbors.
In her youth, “Aunt Judy” was always considered the “cool and fun aunt” by many of her nieces and nephews as she would take them to movies, the lake front or just play records on the stereo and encourage everyone to sing and dance. Usually found with a smile on her face and ready with a joke, Judy’s sense of humor and caring nature raised many a spirit. This paired well with her generosity, often helping friends and family in need, such as assisting with the care and raising of her nephews, Michael and Joseph, when they and their mother, Marion, moved in with Judy.
Starting right out of high school, Judy worked for the JC Penney Company for over 40 years, mostly doing data entry and customer service. A passionate animal lover, especially of dogs, Judy’s humor shone through when she named her own beloved Chihuahua “Willard,” affectionately remarking that the dog looked like a rat.
Growing problems with diabetes and other health issues would hamper Judy’s zest for life in her mid-to-later years, but her smile, laugh, and boundless love will dance on in the memories of her loved ones.
A memorial service will be scheduled for a later date.
