Goethel, Joan (Rook) passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Glenn of 53 years, son Robert, sister Janice Banaszynski, parents Marinus and Anna Rook, grandparents John and Theresa Eichinger, Aunt Clara Koch and Cousin Curtis Koch.

Loving mother of daughter Eileen Glazier (Jim Bira), sons Scott (Heidi) and Steve (Lynne) Goethel. Grandmother of Matthew, Sydney, Jenna, Ethan, Andrew, Alec, and Aaron. Survived by nieces Sharon (John) Pieschek & Sandy (Jeff) Hock, brother-in law George Banasyznski, nephews, friends, and relatives in Germany.

Joan graduated from The University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in Madison. She was a member of Kappa Epsilon. She had a long fulfilling career as a Pharmacist. Joan enjoyed playing cards, reading, watching Green Bay Packer & Badger football games and spending time with her family.

Joan and her husband Glenn lived in Grafton for 47 years and then moved to Tudor Oaks Retirement Community in Muskego where they had many wonderful friends and a caring staff. Joan most recently resided at Harbour Village in Greendale where she was cared for in recent months.

Visitation will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 West Capital Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM. A memorial service and then private burial will follow beginning at 10:00 AM.
