Jerrie Schwartz (known as “Bubbe” to her grandchildren) passed away on January 5th,
2021 at the age of 84 from heart failure. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 60
years, Howard Schwartz, her two children Rob Schwartz and Andrea Hanley and their spouses
Liz Schwartz and Al Hanley, her five grandchildren: Jessica Schwartz, Nathaniel Schwartz,
Liam Hanley, Maura Hanley, and Aidan Hanley, and her brother Alan Turick.

Jerrie was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she graduated from
Germantown High School, attended college for a year, met Howard, married him, and raised
their children. She moved to Wisconsin in 1988 and lived in the Waukesha area with Howard
ever since.

Jerrie worked at the Bell Telephone Company when she was a young woman. She was
also deeply supportive of the Anti-War and Civil Rights movements in the 1960s-1970s.
Additionally, she always loved and received considerable joy from cooking and caring for her
family.

Jerrie had many interests. She was an avid reader and liked listening to music, such as
Bruce Springsteen and the Beatles. Jerrie also enjoyed taking rides in the country with her
family—especially Howard, watching the boats at Lake Michigan beaches with Howard. Lastly,
she loved family dinners and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and
grand-pets.

Jerrie will be greatly missed by all her loved ones! She is remembered as a fantastic
Jewish cook and for her loyalty, generosity, sincerity, conscientiousness, loving nature, and deep
love of elephants. Not to mention, her family will miss her almost daily calls to check-in, to
make sure they were all home safe during bad weather, or to discuss local or national news. Rest
in peace, Bubbe.
