On March 10th, 2017, God decided to give life to an incredible woman. She touched each person she met with her kindness and love.
Grace was born the 7th child from a family of 8 (Beloved sister of the late Congetto (the late Josephine), the late Anthony (Marcella), Carmello (Mary Edna), the late Phillip (the late Janet), Santa (Sarro), Sylvia (the late William), the late Marie (the late Willfred) ). Her parents Josephine and Carlo Alberti, immigrated to the United States from Italy in the very early 1900’s. Her pride in her Italian Heritage was something she passed on to all of her family. She grew up with her family in the heart of Milwaukee’s West Side attending Wisconsin Avenue Grade School and West Division High School.
Grace married Raymond Wojnowski in 1951 and they had 5 children JoAnn (Jay) Kenseth, the late Frank, Carl, Laura (Steven) Szydlowski, and Jeanine (James) Bezie.
She enjoyed a long career and made many lifelong friends at Motor Castings as a payroll clerk. Being a working woman in her era was not the “normal” and she handled her home, career, and children. She made it look easy.
She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was happiest when she was in her kitchen. Her specialties were meatball Sundays, cheesecake, seven layer jello, and the infamous Christmas Cookies. If you were lucky enough to receive this gift, you know the dozens of varieties and hand dipped chocolates were made with love and tasted like Heaven.
In addition to cooking, Grace also kept very busy with other hobbies. She enjoyed canning, gardening, fishing, spending time with her 15 Grandchildren (Heather, Natalie, Abby, Michael, Samuel, Keri, Brent, Lori, Nicole, Stephanie, Eric, Emily, Matthew, Adam, and Amy) and 23 Great Grandchildren (Noah, Henry, Ava, Jackson, Chase, Cruise, Leonardo, Lucas, Brooks, Joseph, Evelyn, Iver, Lennon, Dominick, Matteo, Yllana, Nathan, Jordan, Olivia, Vincent, Taylor, Morgan, Issac).
Grace will forever be remembered for her incredible ability to tell her old stories. She kept everyone laughing and smiling. People loved to listen and she had the whole rooms attention. Friends and family always commented she was one of their favorite people even when they had met her years ago, or had not seen her in a long time. She also enjoyed catching up with friends and family on the phone, it never stopped ringing.
She was a true matriarch and will be dearly missed.

Please accept our condolences. Your family was such a big part of my childhood. Grace will be fondly remembered. I would have liked to pay my respects in person but I am unable to attend due to a recent hip replacement
