In loving memory of George J. Hnasko Jr.

George was born the first child of George Sr. and Madeline Hnasko in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1938. He was big brother ‘Bud’ to Fran, Larry, and Rick. In 1956, at the age of 17, George joined the US Air force where he served 4 years, stationed mostly in France. In the service, he learned the ins and outs of logistics and management, and upon returning home made a career in the moving business, working for Beltman North American Van Lines for 35 years.

George married Karen Carpenter in April of 1964. He and Karen moved from Minneapolis to Milwaukee in 1969 and, shortly after, bought their home on Parkland Avenue in Brown Deer. Here they raised three spirited children, Kristine, Robert, and Tom. George loved and was loved dearly by his seven grandchildren, Andrea, Nicholas, Maxwell, Aubrey, Nira, Marina, and Alaina. Over his long-life George was grateful for time spent with family and friends, enjoying traveling, fishing, golfing, movies, reading, bakery and going out for food, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

George left us on January 2nd 2025, surrounded by his family. George will long be remembered as a loving, big-hearted, generous, and supportive husband, father, grandpa, and friend.

We will hold a memorial to celebrate George’s life at 1:30 on January 14th, 2025 at Krause Funeral Home, 7001 West Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
