Doris Marie Margarete Mueller (nee Dannenmann)

Passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020, at the age of 85. She left a hole in the hearts of many, we lost a beloved mother, friend and neighbor. Doris was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 15, 1935. She is survived by her twin boys Dean (Michelle) Mueller and Marc (Jocelyn) Mueller, her five grandchildren Andrew, Anna, Eric, Lucy, and Sophie, whom she loved with all her heart. Further survived by her dear niece Julie Dannenmann, nephews Phillip Dannenmann, Eric Dannenmann, and Christopher Dannenmann, and her dear friend and father of her boys Mario Mueller. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Philipp and Helen Dannenmann and her brother Alfred Dannenmann.

Doris was a wonderful mother and taught her boys many lessons in life. She also enjoyed learning at every level of her life. After graduating high school in 1953, Doris received numerous degrees and certifications many of us would find it hard to accomplish while raising twin boys. In addition to becoming a Medical Technologist in 1956, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1978, Art Therapist registration in 1981, Elementary and Secondary school teacher license in 1982, and a Masters of Education in 1984.

Doris continually gave of herself and wanted nothing in return.  She was deeply involved at St. Matthew’s church where she gave of her time and sang often in the choir.  Doris loved to travel which brought her to the Friendship Force organization of Greater Milwaukee for 20+ years.  Through this organization she was a Journey Coordinator for numerous trips, a host for many inbound journeys, and traveled extensively to many destinations such as the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Turkey, Japan, Australia, and Ireland making numerous friendships the world over. Through her outstanding contribution over those years Doris was honored with the Wayne Smith Medal in 2017.

Due to the continuing COVID-19 concerns the family will celebrate her life at a later date this fall 2021. Until then take a moment and think of how Doris impacted your life.  Use that memory to make your tomorrow a better day as she continually did for us.  If desired, Doris’ family suggests donations be made in her name to Friendship Force Greater Milwaukee or St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
