On Thursday, December 12, Diane Zoesch, beloved wife of 63 years of the late Jerome “Jerry” Zoesch, and loving mother of Laurie Cahlamer, John (Denise) Zoesch and Gayle (William) Tait, peacefully passed away at the age of 87. Diane was the cherished daughter of the late Kenneth and Lucille Dressler and treasured daughter-in-law of the late Bernard and Agnes Zoesch. Diane was the beloved sister to the late Donald (Judy) Dressler and Robert (the late Gale) Dressler and a dear sister-in-law to the late Arnold (the late Doris) Zoesch and Darlene (the late Arthur) Carlson. Diane was the adored grandmother of 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Diane was also a special aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews, and a caring friend to honorary family member, Rosalie Gazzana. Diane is survived by countless extended family and friends who loved her dearly.
To Diane, family and friends were everything. She loved making a house a home and her welcoming nature made everyone who visited feel special. Her heartfelt touches were appreciated by all who knew her. Diane was the quintessential June Cleaver, even dressing up in her younger years before Jerry walked in the door after a day at work. She found joy in cooking and baking and she lovingly passed that joy down to her children and grandchildren. All meals were homemade and wonderful. Diane enjoyed taking cooking and baking classes to broaden her already honed skills and her family and friends were the lucky taste testers. Each and every one of us has a favorite recipe from Diane.
Diane loved music and dancing. In her younger years she put on high heels to dance the night away at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee. Her beautiful dresses enhanced her exceptional dance skills and she even won a jitterbug dance competition. Diane’s musical interests evolved with time and she eventually found a new passion in country line dancing, so off went the high heels and on went the cowboy boots. She would go as often as she could to boot scootin’ boogie to all the latest country line dances. Diane’s physical health eventually took her off the dance floor, but she found new joy in on-line music, televised singing and dancing competitions, and her favorite electric scootin’ wheelchair. When Heaven opened its doors for Diane, we know Jerry was waiting and we hope they danced.
Diane’s extraordinary caring nature made her family proud. She was warm, gentle and always curious. She radiated kindness, could surprise you with her quick wit, and had a unique way of making everyone feel valued and loved. She brought people together and her engaging presence was a source of comfort and joy for all around her. Diane formed special individualized bonds with family and friends and left emotional imprints in our hearts. We all hope to emulate Diane’s compassion and love for others in our own lives.
Diane’s family would like to thank the extraordinary staff and residents at Serenity Villa V in Campbellsport, the staff at Preceptor Hospice and April Kiekhaefer for making Diane feel loved, cared for and “at home” with her Serenity family. Each of you are angels on earth!
A private family celebration of life to honor Diane will be held in January. Diane will forever remain treasured by all who knew her.
